Conference 2018: Venue & Travel
Venue
The Mercian Conference 2018 is being held at the University of Birmingham, in their brand new purpose built conference centre, in Edgbaston, Birmingham. A campus map is available (top right for the conference park).
Public Transport
The easiest way to access the conference venue is by rail, to University, the University of Birmingham station. University Station is only two stops from Birmingham New Street, with frequent trains roughly every 10 minutes. The journey from BNS takes aproximately eight minutes travel time.
Bus information, along with park and ride guidance, is available on the travelling to the university site.
On Foot
The venue is around 10-15 minutes walk from the University railway station. See our Conference Centre Walking Guide for detailed guidance from the station, or if using your phone's satnav - use the postcode B15 2RA.
By Car & Parking
There is limited parking available at the venue (Conference Park) and also in university carpark opposite the venue (signposted Lucas House). In both cases, direct your satnav to Edgbaston Park Rd, postcode B15 2RA). Spaces cannot be prebooked, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
